About Event

Ketamine-assisted couple therapy (couples' KAP) is a novel method for helping to heal relationship distress. Dr. Kayla Knopp and Dr. Chandra Khalifian will describe a model of couples' KAP that combines principles of evidence-based couple therapy with the latest research on psychedelic-assisted therapies. This workshop will describe the neuroscience of ketamine therapy, the rationale for using ketamine to support change in couple therapy, and the research to date. Attendees will also learn the foundations of couples' KAP in clinical practice, including assessment and case formulation, preparation, dyadic dosing, and couples' integration.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify three key mechanisms of ketamine and how they may support change in couple therapy.

  2. Describe the current state of the research on ketamine-assisted couple therapy.

  3. Explain the principles of assessment, preparation, dosing, and integration in couples' KAP.
This session is designed for group practice owners and therapists who want a clear, real-world perspective on adding KAP to their services.
