Meet the speakers:
Jackson Rowland, Executive Director, Canbury Australia
Jackson works in finance and sustainability, helping investors think about where their money goes and what difference it can make. After studying Law and Science at university, he started his career as a solicitor before moving into impact investing. He helped launch New Zealand's first impact investing fund at the Ākina Foundation and was named an Obama Leader for the Asia Pacific in 2019. In 2022, he received an Obama Foundation scholarship to study finance and investment at Columbia University in New York. Today, at Canbury Australia, Jackson helps financial institutions consider the environmental and social impacts of their investments and make better long-term decisions. He also works with investors to use their influence as shareholders to encourage companies to make positive changes. His career shows how finance can be used to help shape a more sustainable future.
Selina Brouwers, Portfolio Analyst, SEFA
Selina works in impact investing at SEFA, where she supports social enterprises and not-for-profits to create positive social impact through finance. Originally from the Netherlands, she moved to Australia and has built a career spanning sustainability consulting, financial analysis and impact investing. Before joining SEFA, she worked at ERM, where she progressed to Senior Consultant. Selina has a Master's degree in Accounting and Financial Management and is a Certified Management Accountant. She also serves as Treasurer for a community climate action not-for-profit and volunteers at her local community garden.
