Loci Open Chat: From Farmer's Market, to Community Marketplace

​For this Loci Open Chat, we welcome Brian Martin, who runs a public farmer's market and is a micro producer in the town of Show Low, bordering the White Mountains of Arizona near the tribal lands of the Apache, Navajo, and Hopi nations.

Bureaucratic creep restricts more and more cottage industries each year, with agencies exercising authoritarian measures to control the private exchange of goods and services among individuals. Within the agricultural space, the FDA continues to tighten down on dairy, canned and jarred goods, and produce even as civilians struggle to support themselves through debilitating economic games by producing for friends, family and community members through locally organized markets.

​We are going to discuss some of the issues faced in Brian's area, and we'll be asking for both experienced and creative thoughts and suggestions in a live brainstorm session.

​Please bring your curiosity, as well as any suggestions you might have for our guest to consider in his campaign to rejuvenate their food desert and support wellness and health in his community.
