Base Jam

​Base Jam is a 3-hour improvised theatre jam focused on improv exercises and scene practice.

​Minimal improv experience required. Anyone who has done improv (i.e. been to an improv class) is welcome.

​How is Base Jam structured?

​The first half of the jam will be a set of exercises that work on various improv fundamentals. The second half of the jam will be back-to-back open scenes where participants will take turns to practice.

​Approach to Base Jam

​We believe in consistent practice benefitting our improv and the improv of anyone in the community. We want to bring people together with the shared goal of practicing and developing as improvisers. The hope for Base Jam is to play a role in bringing more improv performances to life and help raise the quality of improv in Singapore.

​Hosts

​Base Jam will be facilitated by Jovi Tan and Zhiming Chen. They have performed and honed their craft internationally; gathering improv and performance art wisdom from around the world. With Base Jam, they hope to create a community space for consistent practice, sharing of experiences, and joyful play.
