Recipe For Talent

​A Recipe for Talent is an intimate dinner bringing together ~12 leaders from industry, academia, policy, and government to discuss a simple question: How can the U.S. attract, develop, and retain the critical talent it needs to thrive?

​For much of the 20th century, the United States benefited from an extraordinary ability to attract scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and other ambitious people from around the world. Today, that advantage is being tested. Other countries are competing more deliberately for global talent, while America’s immigration system and institutions were largely designed for a different era.

​We’ll discuss what the next generation of American talent infrastructure should look like. What are the things that matter to the individuals making hiring decisions? What are the political opportunities and headwinds affecting what is possible in the near and medium term? And what national talent strategy could get enough buy-in to move the needle on bringing critical skills to the US?

​Over dinner, Luke and Peggy will lead a lightly structured conversation on how America can remain the place where the world’s most ambitious people come to do their best work.
