Learn to Work The Room
Tailored Professional Networking Workshops
A 3-hour workshop for people who want to learn how to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
Most people leave events with a few vague conversations and nothing to show for it. Some polite follow-ups, a couple of LinkedIn connections, and that's it - the trail runs cold.
That's not networking. That's a missed opportunity masked as attendance.
My networking journey
I learned to network without realising I was already doing it. 13 years ago, I graduated during a downturn in the mining industry and no one was hiring. So I went to events, met as many people as I could, and nurtured every connection. I'd barely graduated and I was already teaching myself a crucial life-skill: how to build and maintain trusted professional relationships.
It paid off at a 3-day conference right after my thesis submission. I showed up on Day 1 with business cards and a one-page CV. By Day 3, I had a verbal job offer in Business Development for an oil and gas software company. The employment contract landed in my inbox that same week.
Since then, I've used the same method to build a career across energy, consulting, and startups. Every meaningful opportunity I've had started with the right conversation. I've broken the method down into a framework, built and honed over a decade, and this workshop is me teaching it.
You don't have to be confident or extroverted to network - this is a HUGE myth.
I've networked when I've felt at my lowest and still gotten the right outcomes by following practical steps I'd developed over the years. Regardless of your personality, goals, or barriers, I believe anyone can learn to network well. I'll show you how.
What you'll learn
How to walk into any room with a clear plan, not just vibes
How to open a conversation with a stranger without sounding rehearsed or awkward
How to identify who in the room is actually worth your time
How to move a conversation from small talk to something useful, fast
How to exit a conversation cleanly without burning the connection
How to follow up so the relationship doesn't die in your inbox
How to build a networking rhythm you can actually sustain
You'll leave with the full framework, scripts you can use the next day, and a follow-up system that works.
How it runs
Before the workshop, you'll have a private 30-minute scoping call with me. We'll cover your goals, your personality, the rooms you're trying to get into, and your barriers to networking. I use these calls to tailor the workshop content to the cohort, so the room gets coaching that actually applies to the people in it.
The workshop itself runs 3 hours. Framework first, then live practice, then hot seats where I coach you through the situations you've told me you struggle with. You practice on the other 9 people in the room, which is its own kind of networking.
Who it's for
Young professionals who know their career is going to be built on relationships and want to start now.
Established leaders who've gotten this far on competence and are realising the next level needs something else.
Founders and operators who know that customers, hires, and capital all sit behind relationships.
If you've ever entered a room thinking, "I'm so lost. Where do I start?" this is for you.
