About Event

This picnic is an invitation for queer BIPOC sapphics to gather softly, casually, and in community. Just blankets, snacks, laughter, and conversations. Maybe some flirting, dancing, and playing.

Come solo or with friends. Come overstimulated, shy, excited, awkward, soft, tired, chatty, quiet. There is no “right” way to arrive.

Liv and Amal (your "hosts") have been craving more spaces where we don’t have to search for each other in handfuls among mostly white queer crowds.

We love queer community deeply, and also know the particular exhale that happens when BIPOC sapphics gather together. The softness. The familiarity. The shared cultural nuance. The relief of not having to explain certain parts of ourselves.

So we thought… what if we simply made the thing we’ve been longing for?

🌸 The Vibe + what to bring:

Think easeful, low-stress and pleasurable picnic.
Bring a blanket if you can! Bring a snack and/or bevie, enough for you + maybe 3 friends to share.

Ideas: a dip + something to dip into it lol, berries, oranges, watermelons, other fruits, chips, sparkling water, juice, pastries, store-bought or homemade snacks (literally whatever feels easy). And if elaborate is your easy, go for it! haha

If the weather is giving rain and thunder, or if it's smoky, we’ll gather at Amal's place (please RSVP so that we can send you the address Monday morning).

Looking forward to being together. 💐🌸

FAQs:

  • Who is this space for?
Queer BIPOC sapphics. This includes lesbians, bisexual, pansexual, queer, questioning, trans, nonbinary, gender-expansive, masc, femme, stud, futch, soft masc, and folks who resonate with the sapphic community.

  • Can I bring my white partner/friend?
We ask that this gathering remain centred specifically around queer BIPOC sapphic community.
We know many of us are in interracial relationships and friendships, and we hold that with care. At the same time, the intention of this gathering is to create a space where BIPOC sapphics can experience being centred, surrounded, and among one another.
We lovingly ask white partners/friends to sit this one out. 💛

  • What if I’m shy or socially awkward?
    Honestly… same. Come anyway.
