Purposeful Partnerships in Prisons
Host: Bullingdon Community Connections
Bullingdon Community Connections is an innovative partnership between Oxfordshire Community & Voluntary Action and HMP Bullingdon that is transforming lives. By enabling community organizations to provide purposeful activities for prisoners, we're giving them meaningful ways to spend their time - less "banged up" in cells and more engaged in rewarding, curiosity-sparking events.
These purposeful activities don't just promote wellbeing and social engagement - they also help ease tension, reduce substance abuse, and lower the risk of violence. It's a powerful model for community-justice collaboration, and we're excited to share it with you.
Join us at the Marmalade Festival for a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring:
Community facilitators providing the engaging activities
Staff from the prison and probation service
Men who have directly benefited from the program
They'll share their experiences and the profound impact of this innovative initiative. But we also want to hear from you! This is your chance to ask challenging questions and provide your insights on how this community-justice partnership model could be replicated elsewhere.
Come ready to engage, contribute, and help shape the future of prison rehabilitation and community reintegration. We look forward to an enlightening discussion!
