​Kirkland acquired Barking Owl via entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA). Previously, Kirkland served as Global Music Licensing Program Manager for Google, and as Chief Business Officer for Stevie Wonder's Wonder Productions. Before that, he held several business and legal affairs positions at Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP.
