Australian Launch of the Poems of Seamus Heaney
Partnered by Brunswick Bound Bookshop
Join us in celebrating the Australian launch of The Poems of Seamus Heaney, the long-awaited, definitive edition of the Nobel Laureate’s poetry, with editors Rosie Lavan, Bernard O'Donoghue and Matthew Hollis.
This landmark volume traces the full arc of Heaney’s distinguished career, bringing together every collection published during his lifetime - from Death of a Naturalist (1966) to Human Chain (2010), his twelfth and final book. It also includes poems published posthumously, those that appeared only in pamphlets, journals or limited editions, and a selection of previously unpublished material chosen by the poet’s family.
With critical introductions to each collection and illuminating notes, this is the essential volume for admirers of Heaney’s work. There will be readings and discussions of Seamus Heaney’s poetry, as well as an opportunity to speak with the editors of The Poems of Seamus Heaney, who will be joining us on screen from Dublin, Oxford and London. The event will be hosted by Ronan McDonald and Stephen Regan.
