About Event

Join us for “From the Soil” — an afternoon of storytelling, flavors, and conversation rooted in the Chinese countryside.

Hosted by Off-Menu Magazine, this event begins with a conversation between Vivianne Zhang Wei of Chinese Farm Chronicles and Off-Menu founder Sophie Chen. Through a presentation of stories and photographs from her most recent fieldwork, Vivianne will invite you into the homes, fields, and everyday lives of Qitianren, a smallholder farming community in rural Sichuan, China.

Following the talk, enjoy curated bites by Eric Wang of 81 Eats, featuring ingredients Vivianne brought from the villages she visited. We'll close the afternoon with food, mingling, and conversation. Capacity is limited. Reserve your ticket now!

All event proceeds will go directly to the Qitianren Farmers' Cooperative and support their efforts in empowering local smallholder food producers.

Note: If you have selected the bundle ticket option, you can pick up the magazine at the event :)
