​1. Confidentiality is critical

• ​What's shared here stays here

• ​No sharing outside the group without explicit permission

• ​Respect founders and VCs alike — no public callouts or name-and-shame

​2. Keep it high-signal

• ​Share actionable intel, not gossip

• ​Example of good intel → "Firm X just paused new investments until Q4"

• ​Example of bad intel → "VC Y is annoying"

​3. Give more than you take

• ​Don't just lurk

• ​If you get value, contribute value

• ​Share notes after your own meetings

​4. Be respectful and constructive

• ​No trash talk

• ​This is about useful context, not venting

​5. Use clear formats for sharing

• ​Firm name + Date + Contact/Partner + Notes + Recommended intro or avoid

• ​Makes it easy for others to search and use

​6. Segment when needed

• ​Use threads and/or channels by stage (Pre-Seed Seed Series A+), vertical, or GEO to keep info organized

​7. No unsolicited self-promotion

• ​No pitching your startup or spamming unless directly relevant to the convo

​8. Be proactive on intros

• ​If someone asks for help, and you can assist → offer

• ​Building trusted networks starts with showing up

​Note: Virtual gatherings are currently only available to people subscribed to the "friends of next play" tier. This is one of the first of hopefully many virtual gatherings. If you have ideas for what we should do in the future, please just let us know.
