MCP Workshop: CBC x Notion
MCP aka. Model Context Protocol
Come learn how AI actually connects to the real world, then build something yourself.
MCP is the open protocol powering integrations across tools like GitHub, Slack, Notion, and more. In this hands-on workshop hosted by the CBC in partnership with NotionUMD, you'll go from zero to a working MCP server by the end of the night.
What we'll cover:
Why the integrations problem is slowing down AI development
How MCP works: tools, resources, and prompt templates
MCP Apps: interactive UIs rendered directly in conversation
Advanced techniques: Tool Search & Programmatic Tool Calling
Hands-on build time - leave with a working MCP server
No experience required. Whether you're brand new to AI or already shipping agents, this is the protocol you need to know.
To build along, you'll need Claude Code. Don't have access yet? No worries - show up, fill out our form at the event, and we'll get you access within a week.
Just bring your laptop.
