get together SLUSH apply for a volunteer

​SLUSH volunteer applications are open now so we are organizing a get together to apply there all together in Konttori. Anyone is welcome and we will get some tips from someone who works at SLUSH. ☺️

​"Hi everyone!

​First of all, I’m really sorry for the confusion with the event date! The session actually took place yesterday, even though the Luma event page said it would be next Friday. Some of you made it yesterday, but I’m really sorry if you showed up next Friday expecting the session to happen.

​If you’re still interested in volunteering at Slush, you can go to the office next Friday and apply together with others. We also had a call with Maria from Slush yesterday, and she mentioned that you can always email volunteers@slush.org if you have questions or want to ask about volunteering.

​Here are the main tips from our call:

• ​The most important questions in the application are:
  “Why would you like to volunteer at Slush?” and
  “Do you have other relevant experience you would like us to know?”
  These are the questions Volunteer Leads see first, so make sure you put some thought into them.

• ​It doesn’t matter whether you apply for all roles or only a few. If there’s a specific role you’re interested in, definitely go for it — and mention your preference in your own text as well.

• ​The “Ecosystem Interest” section doesn’t affect your application. Slush mainly uses it to track their own volunteer ecosystem.

• ​Want to work shifts before the event and be fully involved throughout Slush? That’s possible by applying for the Production teams.
