About Event

This isn’t Toastmasters.

There are no long speeches and no one tracking your filler words.

And this isn’t about becoming a better presenter. It’s about becoming a little less afraid of taking up space. And doing it in a room where everyone else is practicing the same thing.

It’s an intimate speaking circle.

A small group (15 people max) where everyone stands up and gets an equal amount of time to practice speaking authentically in front of others.

There is no feedback or critique unless you ask for it.

*********************************************************

Each session is 80 minutes. The structure is simple:

Check-Ins

“What’s one thought or feeling that’s present for you right now?” or "What is your intention for tonight?"

You don’t need to be interesting. Just share what’s true for you right now.

Round 1: Imagination Game.

You’ll get a prompt. Without time to prepare, you speak.

The point is to think on your feet, notice how it feels when all eyes are on you, and keep going.

Round 2: Tell Me Something Interesting.

You’ll read a short article and share it in front of the group.

You can present as yourself, or challenge yourself by drawing a "presenter style" from a hat (news anchor, professor, gossiping friend, etc.) and delivering it that way.

Round 3: You Decide.

Ooooh, so many options...!

  • "Mudra Theatre" (an Authentic Relating game).

  • "Tell Me Everything, Now Stop Talking" game.

  • Another Imagination Game.

OR... for the brave souls, you are welcome to come with a mini speech prepared. (About anything. Just keep it to 3 minutes.)

Closing / Reflections

Quick check-out: A sentence or two on how it felt, what you liked, what you didn't like, or what you’re desiring more of.
