About Event

The sheer velocity and power of emerging AI tools are expanding the role of the editor until the traditional job title no longer quite applies.

The emerging AI-powered artist is increasingly generating their own footage and elements, building custom workflows, and directing AI systems across the creative process. When one person can move between production design, cinematography, character creation, and post, the old job descriptions and rate structures start to break down.

Editors are uniquely positioned for this moment because so much of the work still depends on story, structure, rhythm, and taste. But once they start generating the material themselves, they also need to think beyond the timeline. They need to understand visual language, lighting, lenses, camera movement, and how to make synthetic elements feel real.

This is exactly the kind of Future Film conversation Tuesday nights are for: an open discussion among professionals working on the frontier of this technology and trying to make sense of how the work, the roles, and the business are changing.

The real value is the people in the room. Some are deep into agents, workflows, and advanced AI pipelines. Others are figuring out how these tools affect their paid work, their creative practice, and the next chapter of their careers. Together, it’s a generous, highly informed room of people comparing notes and actively working through the same questions.

Your next job may not have a title yet. Come see where this is headed, what it pays, and talk to the people already doing it.
