About Event

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Human Resources invite you to an engaging HLS staff workshop with Professor Sheila Heen, coauthor of Thanks for the Feedback and Thaddeus R. Beal Professor of Practice, on how to receive and utilize feedback more skillfully—especially when it’s unfair, poorly delivered, or just hard to hear. Drawing on decades of research at the Harvard Negotiation Project, Professor Heen will unpack the three types of feedback (appreciation, coaching, and evaluation), the common “triggers” that derail us, and practical strategies HLS staff can use to turn even tough conversations into opportunities for learning, clarity, and stronger working relationships.
