About Event

I am hosting an online Qigong event on Thursday 7th November to mark Lidong, the traditional start of winter.

Lidong represents the exact moment nature turns inward to store energy, making it the most powerful time of the season to quiet your mind, relax your body and protect your energy reserves.

In nature, winter is a season meant for stillness, but we often find December becomes one of the busiest, most demanding times of the year. Learning to make time for stillness, and leaning into it even when it feels uncomfortable, is key to staying energised and well through the colder months.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn is linked to the Lungs and Large Intestine, a time to clear out grief, sadness, and old patterns to cultivate courage and integrity. Winter connects to the Kidneys and Bladder, helping us process fear, anxiety, and nervousness so we can access true gentleness and deep stillness.

During this session, we will be working with autumn and winter Qigong/TCM theory and practices, including the Ba Duan Jin, Zhan Zhuang, and Healing Sounds Meditation.

Using movement, breath, and sound, we will enter a deep meditative state to activate your body's natural self-healing capabilities.

What you will get out of attending:

  • Learn how to let go of autumn heaviness, sadness, and stagnant emotion

  • Build physical courage and nervous system resilience for the seasonal transition

  • Shift out of winter fear and anxiety into a state of grounded gentleness

  • Practice making space for genuine stillness so you can navigate year-end busyness without burning out
