​​Welcome to Funnel Club - a new kind of event for strategy minds who think deeply, speak boldly, and appreciate a well-poured drink.

​​We started in Sydney and now were coming to Melbourne! It’s part open mic night, part debate club, and part after-work wind-down - designed to bring Australia’s agency strategy community together for real conversation, fresh perspectives, and a break from the same old industry small talk.

​​Each edition puts one sharp question on the table - from the trivial to the transformational. This time, we're asking: Is Strategising Authenticity an Oxymoron? A conversation about authenticity, strategy, and why we all feel like we're winging it.

Join us for the very first Melbourne instalment of Funnel Club as we unpack the self-conscious and occasionally absurd world of 'authenticity.'

Through a series of interactive talks we'll venture into the uncomfortable gap between who brands are, who we are as strategists, who we need to perform as, and who the industry rewards us for being.

Is Bieberchella the epitome of modern marketing authenticity?

Is authenticity something every brand can achieve?

Can a brand manufacture authenticity?

And does anyone actually know what they're doing?

Together we'll debate a collection of hot takes from strategy, culture and creative work and explore the tension between sincerity and uncertainty, intuition and craft.

We can't promise we'll solve authenticity, cure imposter syndrome, or finally admit what strategy actually is. But we can promise an evening of curiosity, honest conversation and light hearted existential crisis.

This is an event for strategists of all shapes and sizes.

​​Hosted by Adrian Cosstick (Head of Strategy at Half Dome) and Tully Walter (Strategy Director at T&P), the discussion kicks off with bold takes and open debate - then opens up to the room. No panels. No egos. Just sharp minds and sharper opinions.

​​After 30 minutes of sparring, the drinks start flowing. We’ll keep the lighting low, the energy up, and the conversation going.
