wren house - sized on purpose
an invite-only evening in bangalore for a curated group of ambitious women from very different worlds - twelve to fifteen. of them. warm, and built for real conversation
most rooms full of ambitious people are optimised for the wrong thing : volume. a hundred name tags, thirty business cards, zero conversations you remember on monday.
this is the opposite. one room. an engineer, a designer, a founder, a lawyer, a researcher, someone from a world you've never worked in. all builders, all curious, all a little too ambitious for small talk.
the name comes from an actual wren house - a nest box built with an entrance just wide enough for a wren, and no wider. that's the whole idea here too: a guest list sized on purpose, not by how many people we could reach.
put a curated group of remarkable, generous women in a room where conversations can actually happen, and let the interesting things follow. you might find a collaborator, understand an industry you knew nothing about, or just make a friend who gets it. mostly, you'll leave with people.
who should apply: women who are building something (a company, a body of work, a career they actually chose), who light up at how other people's worlds work, and who show up generous. any field. what matters is the disposition, not the domain.
who this probably isn't for: if you're looking to sell to the room, collect leads, or "network" in the card-collecting sense , this'll frustrate you, and that's okay. no hard feelings.
what to expect: arrive, settle in, no forced mingling. a warm welcome, a couple of gentle structured moments to break past small talk, small-group conversations so you actually talk to several people properly, and unstructured time with a little scaffolding so the right people find each other. we close with a round of "who do you want to keep talking to," and everyone leaves with a way to reach the group afterward.
the ticket: ₹499 (partially refundable if you attend :)) , it's mostly there so we both know you're coming , the evening falls apart if people flake. non-refundable, but message us if something genuinely comes up.
how it works: invite and application-based -the guest list is the whole point, so we curate it by hand. tell us a little about yourself below. we read every one and reply either way.
faqs:
— is it really women-only? yes.
— i'm not a founder not in tech , should i apply? especially then. the mix is the magic.
— what if i don't know anyone? nobody will. that's the design.
— will there be pitching / panels a stage? no.
— how many people? twelve to fifteen.
— why "wren house"? a wren house has one small entrance - just enough for a wren, nothing bigger. the guest list works the same way.
