Gridcog Unplugged: Exploring FCAs in Germany
Exploring The Impact of Flexible Connection Agreements on BESS Economics
We're excited to host Gridcog Unplugged in Berlin on September 14th, 2026!
Join us for our sixth edition - and second in Germany - for an evening of insightful energy chats, good vibes and a drink or two.
What topic will we be exploring?
As DSOs increasingly offer FCAs as the standard route to grid connection for BESS projects, developers have to factor their impact into the business case from day one. This changes more than just access to the grid: it reshapes the merchant revenue case and how that revenue translates into the contracted, de-risked income streams that hybrid and co-located projects increasingly rely on.
Our fireside chat will explore: "What is the impact of FCAs on BESS economics, and how does it reshape the business case for utility-scale hybrid projects in Germany?"
Special guest speakers announced:
Anwar Darwich, Commercial Director (PPA Origination), MaxSolar
Jo (Xuejiao) Han, Head of Quant and Research, terralayr
Julian Gerstner, Founder & Managing Director, MIRAI Power
Will there be refreshments?
We’ll provide food and drinks on the night, so just bring yourselves, your team (they can register at the same link), and any key questions for the panel!
