Faith in Housing Workshop Day: How to use Virginia's new law to build affordable housing on church land.
Join us for a part-day Workshop event. We're hosting three educational workshops that bring together Religious leaders, church pastors, church board members, real estate financiers, affordable housing developers, and local elected lawmakers.
We will discuss what is in Virginia's new Faith in Housing law that allows Churches (and other religious centers) to build affordable housing on their land by right.
Then learn about how these types of projects come to together, what it takes to finance them, how long they take, what churches can do now to succeed while financing affordable housing in the future, and more.
Presenters
Virginia State Senator Salim: breaking down what is in Virginia's new Faith in Housing law and what it means for affordable housing in the region.
A local church board member reflecting on their experience and learnings from building affordable housing on their church's property.
Caitlin Gossens, an experienced affordable housing financier who has worked on several large multi-use housing projects in the region from Standard Communities.
