Sunrise Social Dreaming Matrix Hike
Join us for a beautiful sunrise walk and social dreaming matrix at the beach! We will get our minds going with a short, 0.6 mile sunrise walk at Leo Carrillo State Park then head over to the beach to start our Social Dreaming Matrix. As we explore this year's theme of being Rooted in Land, Lineage, and Community, we'll return to the practice of gathering around dreams. Long before Gordon Lawrence gave us the framework known as the Social Dreaming Matrix, many ancestral cultures understood dreams as something to be shared with the community, carrying wisdom that extended beyond the individual. This morning is about slowing down, getting curious, and seeing what begins to unfold when we dream, reflect, and make meaning in community.
Caroline will be your Social Dreaming Matrix host. Once Hike Clerb members sign up, Caroline strongly encourages them to think about a couple of dreams they have had lately that they’d be willing to share. Members are not required to, as these are typically vulnerable moments.
This experience centers BIPOC health and well-being.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Please arrive early.
You must fill out the form to confirm your reservation.
Conditions may be hot with little shade, so don’t forget your sunscreen and hat.
Make sure to hydrate the day before the event and eat breakfast in the morning.
Bring a few snacks, a reusable water bottle, and extra water to refuel during the event.
Wear socks and comfortable, closed-toe hiking shoes (making sure they're already broken in is critical!). Sneakers will not have as much grip on the trail.

ABOUT HIKE CLERB
Hike Clerb is an LA-based intersectional women’s hike club and 501(c)(3) founded by Evelynn Escobar. Through guided experiences in nature Hike Clerb creates space for Black Indigenous and women of color to gather heal and reconnect outdoors.
ABOUT GUIDE CAROLINE TRUJILLO
Caroline Trujillo is originally from Texas, has lived in LA for 8 years and goes to Panama every two years to visit family and reconnect with the many parts of her identity. She's a Leo Sun, Aquarius Rising and Aries Moon. Her favorite trail is Griffith Park because it's so close to her house and it's helped make hiking an everyday activity. She joined HikeClerb in 2021 and has loved the adventures ever since. Off the trail, you can find her on a dance floor or busting Uno out at any function.
