The Modern Palaestra: Nude Wrestling for Queer Men

Welcome to the first in-person Modern Palaestra wrestling event.
Inspired by the ancient Greek palaestra—spaces where men gathered for wrestling, physical training, and development—we’re reimagining that tradition for queer men today through masculine expression, sexual empowerment, and embodiment.
This will be a facilitated nude wrestling experience beginning with a brief safety and consent orientation. No wrestling experience is necessary, and men of all body types and backgrounds are welcome.
The Modern Palaestra is an affinity space for queer men. If you identify as a man and somewhere on the queer spectrum, you’re welcome—including trans men.
Wrestle as much or as little as you’d like, or simply come as a spectator. This first event will be a dry run, with hopes of exploring oil wrestling at future gatherings.
The $25 registration fee helps cover costs and supports making this a sustainable recurring event.
Optional creator content area
Adult content creators will be joining us, with a designated space for recording. Recording is limited to participants who explicitly agree to be filmed.
Meet your host
This event is hosted by Ben Gibson, a Seattle community builder working toward a new space for queer men. You may know Ben from Steamworks, where he works and has spent over a year in an apprenticeship learning to create a sex-positive space. This fall, he is presenting at the North American Bathhouse Association about his work with content creators, including producing an event for local OnlyFans creators in Seattle.
Modern Palaestra brings that experience and passion into a gathering centered on masculine expression, sexual empowerment, and somatic embodiment—a step toward a queer men’s gym.
