Journocoders: Data reporting with R and Quarto
This month we'll be learning about data reporting using R and Quarto.
Quarto is a technical publishing system which allows you to produce readable and sharable data analysis reports — this can be great for collaborating on a piece of data analysis, or perhaps for cases where you might want to publish your full methodology on the web. Quarto is comparable with a few programming languages, but we'll be using it with R.
In this session we'll be following a tutorial that is an introduction both to data analysis with R and to using Quarto. We'll first cover how to produce and publish Quarto documents to the web, and then look at how to clean, analyse, and visualise data using R in conjunction with Quarto.
All of our events are suitable for beginners, and no programming experience is required. Bring a laptop along as this a practical, hands-on workshop. Please also sign up for a Dropbox account if you don't already have one so you can edit the shared doc we'll be using during the event.
