โ€‹Build for Better Minds.

โ€‹RePlay Alexandria: Mindshift - with Miro is a six-hour youth mental health innovation lab where young people explore challenges affecting their wellbeing, turn those challenges into ideas, and build creative digital solutions using AI tools.

โ€‹Mindshift is part of Youth Voices, Strong Minds, Revivals Egyptโ€™s youth mental health project supported through the International Childrenโ€™s Peace Prize Project Fund by KidsRights and State of Youth.

โ€‹Throughout the event, participants will use Miro to brainstorm, map problems, understand users and needs, organize their ideas, and visually plan what they want to build before and during development.

โ€‹You do not need previous app-development experience. Beginners will receive a clear structure and support to get started, while experienced developers, designers, founders, students, and technical builders are encouraged to join, move fast, collaborate, and help strengthen the room.

โ€‹Each participant or team will work with their own Miro board to explore a youth mental health or wellbeing challenge, understand the people affected by it, shape a possible response, prioritize features, and turn that thinking into a working prototype.

โ€‹Come with an idea, join someone else's project, or discover what you want to work on when you arrive.

โ€‹The goal is not simply to build an app. It is to understand a real challenge, think critically about what young people need, and leave with something tangible that responds to it.

โ€‹What to Expect

โ€‹Understand the Challenge

โ€‹Begin with an interactive conversation around youth mental health and wellbeing.

โ€‹Participants will explore issues affecting young people such as stress, loneliness, academic pressure, social connection, digital wellbeing, stigma, emotional expression, and access to support.

โ€‹You will then choose a problem or opportunity that you genuinely want to explore.

โ€‹Map the Problem with Miro

โ€‹Each participant or team will use their own Miro board to identify:

  • โ€‹Who is affected

  • โ€‹What they experience

  • โ€‹Their needs and barriers

  • โ€‹Why the problem matters

  • โ€‹What an accessible and responsible solution could look like

โ€‹The goal is to understand the challenge before jumping immediately into building.

โ€‹Shape the Solution

โ€‹Brainstorm possible digital responses, identify the most useful features, and define the simplest version of your idea that can be demonstrated by the end of the event.

โ€‹Your idea could become an app, platform, interactive experience, resource, tool, or prototype.

โ€‹Build With AI

โ€‹Choose the development and AI tools that work best for you and start building.

โ€‹Prompt, prototype, design, test, debug, and iterate while using your Miro board to keep the problem, user, and purpose visible throughout the process.

โ€‹Show What You Built

โ€‹Present a short live demonstration of your project.

โ€‹Rather than only showing features, teams will explain:

  • โ€‹The mental health or wellbeing challenge they explored

  • โ€‹What they learned about the problem

  • โ€‹Who their idea is designed for

  • โ€‹How their solution responds to the need

  • โ€‹What they built during the event

โ€‹Reflect Together

โ€‹Mindshift will close with a short reflection on what participants learned about youth mental health, technology, collaboration, and the kinds of support young people actually want to see.

  • โ€‹People interested in AI-assisted development

  • โ€‹Anyone interested in using Miro for creative problem-solving and product planning

  • โ€‹Young people willing to collaborate, experiment, and share their perspectives

โ€‹You do not need a finished idea, an existing team, or previous app-development experience.

โ€‹Bring a laptop, charger, curiosity, and a willingness to build something meaningful.

โ€‹How We'll Use Miro

โ€‹Miro will be integrated throughout Mindshift as a visual thinking and collaboration tool.

โ€‹Each participant or team will use their own Miro board to:

  • โ€‹Explore youth mental health and wellbeing challenges

  • โ€‹Map users, needs, barriers, and problems

  • โ€‹Brainstorm possible solutions

  • โ€‹Organize research and observations

  • โ€‹Define the simplest useful version of their idea

  • โ€‹Plan features and priorities

  • โ€‹Collaborate visually with teammates

  • โ€‹Track how the idea changes during development

  • โ€‹Connect early thinking directly to the final prototype

โ€‹The goal is to make structured problem-solving accessible even to participants who are completely new to product development.

โ€‹The Mindshift Theme

โ€‹Mindshift explores one central question:

โ€‹How can young people use creativity and technology to make mental health and wellbeing more understandable, accessible, supportive, and youth-friendly?

โ€‹Projects may explore areas such as:

  • โ€‹Stress and emotional wellbeing

  • โ€‹Healthy routines and self-care

  • โ€‹Social connection and loneliness

  • โ€‹School and university wellbeing

  • โ€‹Access to reliable support and resources

  • โ€‹Mental health awareness and education

  • โ€‹Community and peer support

  • โ€‹Digital wellbeing

  • โ€‹Emotional expression

  • โ€‹Tools that help young people communicate how they feel

  • โ€‹Reducing stigma around asking for support

โ€‹Projects are not expected to diagnose, treat, or replace professional mental health care.

โ€‹The focus is on thoughtful and responsible ideas that improve awareness, accessibility, communication, connection, education, or everyday wellbeing.

โ€‹Youth Voices, Strong Minds

โ€‹Mindshift is part of Youth Voices, Strong Minds, a Revivals Egypt project focused on creating spaces where children and young people can talk about mental health, express their perspectives creatively, challenge stigma, and participate in shaping solutions that respond to their own experiences.

โ€‹The project combines youth conversations, creative activities, awareness content, family and community engagement, and youth-led experiences across Alexandria.

โ€‹Mindshift brings the project's mental health mission together with technology and innovation by giving young people the opportunity to move from conversation โ†’ understanding โ†’ idea โ†’ prototype.

โ€‹Why RePlay?

โ€‹RePlay creates practical opportunities for young people to learn by making.

โ€‹Through hands-on experiences, participants explore AI literacy, STEM, digital design, product thinking, collaboration, and creative problem-solving while working on challenges that matter to their communities.

โ€‹For Mindshift, the technology is not the purpose by itself.

โ€‹It is a tool young people can use to explore mental health from their own perspective and turn their ideas into something others can see, test, discuss, and improve.

โ€‹Come ready to understand, map, build, and rethink what youth mental health solutions can look like.
