About Event

The political debate on climate and nature is shifting. As misinformation grows and the conversation becomes more polarised, we face an urgent communications challenge: how can we connect public support with political action?

Join Polly Billington MP (Labour MP for East Thanet and Chair of Renewable and Sustainable Energy APPG) and guests for a panel discussion on how the politics of climate, nature and decarbonisation are changing and what businesses, NGOs and politicians can do about it.

Reflecting on the lessons of the past year and looking ahead to 2026, our speakers will share cross-party perspectives, fresh insights, and practical ideas for shaping messages that cut through the noise and build common ground in an increasingly polarised landscape.

Speakers

  • Polly Billington MP, Labour MP for East Thanet & Chair of Renewable and Sustainable Energy APPG

  • Professor Becky Willis, Professor in Energy and Climate Governance, Lancaster University

  • Hannah Martin, Co-Executive Director, Green New Deal

  • John Flesher, Deputy Director, Conservative Environment Network

  • Costanza Poggi, Managing Director, Seahorse Environmental (chair)

Attendees may arrive at 4:45pm, with the panel beginning at 5pm. Audience members are encouraged to participate to the discussion through our Q&A.

Please note due to capacity, we are asking people to register your interest and we will then be in touch with confirmation. Please allow up to 30 minutes to go through Portcullis House Security.
