Career Story Nights, The Multigeneration Edition
A live storytelling night exploring age, experience, trust, and the assumptions we carry into our working lives.
About Career Story Nights
Career Story Nights is a live storytelling evening where professionals share pivotal moments from their careers.
These are not polished keynote speeches or LinkedIn success stories. They are honest reflections on the decisions, challenges and turning points that shape our working lives.
Each edition explores a different chapter of professional life. Previous evenings have explored career pivots, career reinvention, corporate careers and queer career stories.
This edition
At the end of every Career Story Nights, we ask our audience:
What would you like us to explore next?
Age was one of the most requested topics. But not simply age in the sense of an ageing workforce.
We're interested in what happens when different generations work alongside one another and in the assumptions that can accompany age and experience.
Being too young.
Being too old.
Being too experienced.
Not being experienced enough.
This edition brings together career stories from different stages of working life to explore these questions and more.
Stories of:
Being underestimated because of your age
Navigating a multigenerational workplace
Starting or changing direction at a different stage of life
Returning to work or leaving it
Starting a business later or earlier than expected
Building trust and proving your capability, especially as AI changes what expertise looks like
Challenging assumptions about age and experience
Do you have a story to share?

About the evening
Throughout the evening, you will hear a series of short, live career stories from professionals at different stages of their working lives.
Each story centres on a pivotal moment, a decision, a challenge or a shift that changed how someone saw their career.
After the storytelling, there is time to connect with others in the room and continue the conversation.
Career Story Nights creates a space for reflection, connection and honest conversations about the reality of working life.
Seven storytellers × seven minutes each.
