About Event

I've been thinking and tweeting about resolving muscle tension lately, and someone told me that what I'm saying also applies to… improving eyesight?

The theory is that short- and far-sightedness are often caused by tension around the eyes, and that this improves if the tension relaxes. This seems plausible to me.

He offered to run a session on the beach. Come if you'd like to experiment! It will be on Sunday at sunrise.

@visionhealer's description:

Release the squeeze to see with ease

I improved my eyesight from not being able to read the top letter of an eye chart wearing -4.00 lenses, to passing the driver's test without lenses and being able to see 20/20. I did this by learning to relax excess tension around my eyes.

Let's hang out at the beach and practice various relaxations, mindsets, and movements to release tension that may be causing visual dysfunction.

Excess tension of eye muscles squeeze the eyes, lengthening them, and causing blur. Releasing the tension allows the eyes to return to proper length and see clearly - people that relax their eyes will see noticeably clearer at the event.

I will guide instructions and group activities. There will be both physical- and emotion- focused practices.

Notes:

  • Do not wear contacts. Glasses OK.

  • Feel free to bring swim gear, beach blanket

  • If you've done laser eye surgery this is probably unsafe for you.

  • Please bring sports equipment so we can test our new eyesight (frisbees, footballs, etc.)

  • It can be jarring to need your glasses to drive home after this, so you may not want to depend on driving back.
