Dindga McCannon: Printmaking Workshop

​Join us for a Gelli Plate printmaking workshop led by Dindga McCannon at Fridman Gallery.

​This workshop is an exploration into an easy, fun form of printmaking using the Gelli plate and various mark-making tools. At the end of this 3-hour workshop, participants will leave with a ready-to-hang fabric wall hanging. No experience necessary.

​PLEASE NOTE: This workshop has a fee of $100.00 per person. Printmaking workshops typically range from 150 - 250 due to materials.

​Born and raised in Harlem, Dindga came of age as an artist and young mother during the rise of feminist art and the civil rights movement. Dindga began her career studying with Jacob Lawrence, Charles Alston, Richard Mayhew, and Al Loving at the Art Students League of New York and with Robert Blackburn at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.

​Incorporating non-traditional materials, including personal objects, photographs, and ephemera, Dindga's works often focus on the history and stories of women—iconic public figures, unknown heroines, family, and friends—who shape her vibrant universe.
