Description: Spread a blanket under San Dieguito County Park's trees & green lawns for Pages in the Park, an afternoon of books, music, and the outdoors, hosted by San Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation and San Diego County Library.
Long before air conditioning, shade trees and open lawns like these were San Diego's original Cool Zones, and they still are!
Naturally lowering temperatures, cleaning the air, and giving a whole community a reason to gather outside instead of indoors. Browse the pop up library, explore the Nature touch table with your kids, design your own bookmark, catch storytime at 2pm, and let a lineup of live music from pianist Mandi Miller, DJ Pablo Dodero, and DJ Alejandra Frank carry you through the afternoon.
For anyone who loves this land, it's a small, joyful example of climate resilience already at work, the same quiet stewardship DPR has practiced across San Diego's parks for 80 years.
Bring a blanket, a lawn chair, and your favorite book.

1:30 to 2:30pm: Pianist Mandi Miller, improvised piano
2:30 to 3:30pm: DJ Pablo Dodero, synth, ambient, and Latin tunes
3:30 to 5:00pm: DJ Alejandra Frank, synth, ambient, and Latin tunes
