About the Speaker
Becca has had a fascinating career so far, spanning science, investigative journalism, coaching, and program development: After completing a degree in Neuroscience, she became an undercover animal cruelty investigator, conducting cases that led to to legislative and corporate policy change, especially in California. Her work drew coverage from outlets including The New York Times and The Washington Post. She’s since worked as a manager, educator, and career coach, helping hundreds of students and professionals, while building partnerships with federal agencies.
She is now the campaign manager of the New Roots Institute, advocating for animal welfare by supporting students to drive change in their communities. The New Roots network has expanded to over 15 countries, in addition to advancing animal welfare policies in Washington, D.C.
In her free time, Becca writes, composes, and produces electro-pop music, working with multiple Grammy award-winning artists. She also enjoys rollerblading, running, hiking, and listening to podcasts about neuroscience.
