Climate-Compatible Growth in Asia
Across Asia, countries face a shared imperative: how to sustain economic growth and competitiveness while meeting climate commitments and building resilience. This session will focus on ensuring how these priorities can actively reinforce each other, using Long-term low-carbon development strategies (LT-LEDS).
The panel will address three critical questions:
What sustainable practices can we adopt to lower GHG emissions in the Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector?
How can private and blended finance bridge the gap between committed public grants and mobilised commercial capital for climate projects in India and Southeast Asia?
What are the pathways to ensure that AI development is compatible with global climate commitments?
The discussion will be grounded in field-level insights from the India LEDS Research and Action Platform, a joint initiative of Kalpa Impact and the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), focusing broadly on structural choices, trade-offs, and investment frameworks.
