Return to the Root
In honor of Filipino American History Month, Tala’s Garden and Nayánayá Studio are sharing a space to slow down, connect inward, and tune in to the wisdom held within.
Filipino-American movement facilitator and Ayurvedic Wellness Educator, Loraine of Tala's Garden will lead us in a guided movement meditation to open the space followed by brief a dialogue on nourishing the body through seasonal eating.
Visayan-American land-based artist and chef, Chrissilda Badayos of Nayánayá Studio will guide us through a journey into the Roots of the Archipelago highlighting traditional foods and crops shared in the Kamayan, a traditional Filipino feast shared around a communal table with friends and family. Using our hands to eat, we’ll gather around a plant-based feast centered on gabi (taro), kulo (breadfruit), and saba (plaintain), alongside seasonal produce grown by local Filipino farmers.
Join us for an evening to honor the sacredness of our earthly bodies, food systems, and rich culture ⊹ ࣪ ˖
