What is Encryption to me? Help us put the game to test.
It's World Encryption Day and it's one of the most debated policy debates of the year.
Is encryption good or bad for women and children?
While Chayn and Internet Exchange believe end-to-end encryption is a feminist issue, we understand that the discussion around this has become messy. And we want to help clear it up!
It's possible that you have made up your mind or maybe you're not too sure. We've created an activity to create an open and curious space for human rights and gender-based violence sector organisations/professionals to discuss the issues of privacy, safety and autonomy in the context of our issues. We're looking for only a limited number of friends and peers in the sector to help us test this game and whether it is up for the challenge or not!
What to expect?
- You play an activity that gets you thinking about different scenarios
- You meet some interesting people from around the world who all care about making the world safer
- You learn facts about the history of encryption, some of the terminology, and how it works
- We talk openly about uncomfortable truths
- No one tries to "convince" you but we all have a honest discussion together
Why do I need approval to attend the event?
As this is the first time we're hosting this game, we want to bring together professionals who value nuance, respectful dialogue and will come with an open and curious mind. We will be doing more open events on this later on which anyone will be able to attend!
