Induction Cooking Demo for Realtors by SCE, Franklin Energy, and The Switch Is On

​Franklin Energy and the Building Decarbonization Coalition's The Switch Is On campaign, on behalf of SoCal Edison, are delighted to invite Long Beach area Realtors to an induction cooking demo at a Long Beach area 100 year old Bluff Heights Craftsman.

​The sponsors provide education and outreach for the zero carbon energy transition. The core concept of the energy transition is surprisingly straightforward, well understood, and is one in which every household - and Realtor - has agency. It can be boiled down to two simple hashtags: #ElectrifyEverything (almost) and #DecarbonizeTheGrid.

​The September 30th event will focus on #ElectrifyEverything: converting the machines in our households and small businesses from on-site fossil fuel combustion to electric.

​Our goal at this event is to demonstrate that #CookingWithMagnets outperforms #CookingWithGas in every way, while also providing significant health and comfort benefits. Gas stoves have long been perceived as one of the key features of a gourmet kitchen, but there's a new game in town! In fact, the homeowner will describe how his family has lived in 17 different homes over four decades, and "nice kitchen with gas stove" has been high among their priority criteria nearly every time. Since switching to induction, they've become big fans.

​The hosts will also describe other aspects of this nearly all electric home from personal experience. The owners have converted five of the six primary gas burning machines in their house to electric, and love the results: induction range, clothes dryer, heat pump (heating and A/C), electric vehicle, and yard tools. The only remaining gas machine is the water heater.
