About Event

Jurisdictional REDD+ programmes can provide financial pathways for forest protection that have buy-in from local governments and share benefits with communities and producers. However, even though most deforestation is associated with agricultural and forestry commodity production, JREDD+ programmes often have little direct engagement with the companies that source these products.

During this session, the Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) will present findings from a new paper that explores the ways in which companies that source agricultural or forestry products from JREDD+ jurisdictions can invest or engage in these programmes to advance their own business priorities.

Additionally, Chloris Geospatial will showcase the results of a new analysis that highlights geographies where JREDD+ potential aligns with significant commodity production regions. The session will also provide a range of perspectives from participants in JREDD+ and commodity supply chain programmes.

Speakers:

-Leah Samberg, Lead Scientist, Accountability Framework initiative (AFi)

-Marco Albani, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Chloris Geospatial

-Other speakers to be announced
