About The Right Honourable Lady Justice Geraldine Andrews DBE, PC
Geraldine Andrews was called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1981, elected a Master of the bench in 2004 and is the Treasurer of Gray’s Inn for 2025.
Before becoming a judge, she practiced as a commercial barrister for 30 years specialising in shipping and international trade, advising and appearing in court in a wide range of commercial cases, as well specialising in banking and finance. Her practice had a strong international flavour and she was the first KC in 20 years to be admitted to the Bar of Singapore to argue a case in court.
After taking Silk and being appointed as Recorder in 2001 she became a deputy High Court Judge in 2005 and was appointed as a judge of the King’s Bench Division of the High Court in October 2013. She was appointed a Lady Justice of Appeal in October 2020 and sits in both criminal and civil appeals as well as in the Divisional Court.
Geraldine has been involved in delivering advocacy and other legal training in the UK and overseas for many years, including the How to Deal with Expert Evidence course in Singapore.
She is the co-author of The Law of Guarantees (7th ed 2015) and has been the Master of Education and Chair of Management Committee at Gray’s Inn.
