Cinema Shift Festival is a curated cinematic evening exploring how AI is reshaping storytelling, authorship, and creative production.
Hosted by Laura Mingail, founder of Archetypes & Effects and SXSW Advisory Board member, the evening features Anne Marie Fleming, Ryan Patterson, Ryan Stasyshyn of Rodeo FX Toronto, Zachary Nickels of Dipchand LLP, and Michelle Wyndham-West of OCAD University.
Designed as a focused, high-quality experience inside a historic cinema setting, this is not a traditional conference or general meetup.

AI-assisted short films selected from submissions across 28 countries, screened on the Hot Docs cinema screen.
Selected films include Dial-A-Mate, Grandmère, Egg, Ceremony, When Is It Yours, The Stars, Hard Dayzzz, Hard to Be a God, The Sea That Dreamed, Don’t Feed the Rats, Memento Mori, Sinuca de Bico, Loop and Gavel, Legend, Soar, and When I Became Me.

Awards recognizing narrative strength, human authorship, creative vision, and meaningful use of AI in filmmaking.
After the Program Networking Mixer
An informal gathering for filmmakers, speakers, partners, and audience members to continue the conversation off stage.
