​Update December 29th 2025:

​DICE 2025 Proactive Refund and Future

​​Dear DICE Community

​​First and foremost, our sincere apologies for the long period of silence from the DICE event team.

​As you may know, DIDAS (Digital Identity & Data Sovereignty Association; www.didas.swiss) is one of the initial co-conveners of DICE, alongside Trust Square (operational partner) and IIW (event format & facilitation). We would like to share an update regarding the previously planned DICE event in Switzerland.

​​What may not have been visible from the outside is that DICE was originally operated without a formal agreement or clearly defined governance between the three co-convening parties. Over time, this lack of clarity led to friction and confusion - particularly as underlying conditions and responsibilities changed. This situation was far from ideal and clearly needed to be addressed.

​​As a result, the second 2025 DICE event could not take place due to a complex combination of factors. These included broader market-related developments in Switzerland and across Europe, as well as unresolved governance questions that arose following a change in ownership structure of one of the original co-conveners. As the party carrying the operational and financial risk, Trust Square communicated this situation to all registered participants. 

​​From mid-2025 onward, DIDAS consistently worked (on a fully pro bono basis) towards clarification and resolution of these issues in the interest of the European community. We are pleased to share that, following today’s finalization of the transfer agreement from Trust Square to DIDAS, supported by a formal resolution vote between IIW, Trust Square, and DIDAS, our association now has access to the relevant assets and tools. 

​​Considering recent developments, including the announcement of a DICE-branded event in Copenhagen from June 22–24, 2026, we have decided to proactively refund all tickets that were sold for the planned DICE event in Switzerland. We see this as the most responsible and urgent first step to give you flexibility, following the completion of the transfer. We support the Copenhagen event in 2026 and sincerely hope it will be a success for all participants.

​​Refunds have in the meantime been processed. Any personal data will continue to be handled responsibly and will not be used beyond the scope originally consented to. We may, however, reach out to invite you to participate in the September 2026 Global Digital Collaboration (GDC) in Geneva, as well as future DICE and DIDAS events or working groups.
