Financing Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Adaptation
Mangroves and coral reefs are vital natural infrastructure. They protect coastal communities from storms and erosion, support rich biodiversity, and sequester carbon. Yet despite their importance, they remain underinvested in and are often overlooked by decision-makers and engineers who tend to equate infrastructure with concrete and steel.
With an aim to identify challenges and solutions for the large-scale implementation of nature-based coastal adaptation and an ambition to underscore the importance of the ocean-climate nexus in the lead up to COP30, this high-level event will bring a select group of leaders—including Ministers of Environment, multilateral and global finance institutions, the reinsurance/insurance sector, intergovernmental organisations, and private sector representatives— for a solutions-oriented dialogue moderated by Conservation International CEO Dr. M. Sanjayan, and with the participation of Annika Dubrall, President of The Tiffany & Co. Foundation.
Join us as we explore system-disrupting financing and implementation pathways, with an emphasis on conserving and restoring coastal ecosystems including mangroves and coral reefs that function as natural infrastructure.
