Focus On: New York Schools with Nikole Hannah-Jones
In her recent essay, “In Fighting for Every Black Child, Did I Betray My Own?" Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Staff Writer for The New York Times Magazine, Nikole Hannah-Jones detailed her very personal experience with the New York City public school system. This brought renewed attention to our current system, which has long been recognized as one of the most segregated public school systems in the country.
What is currently at stake for children navigating the current school system? How might leaders address inequities? Where do we go from here, and what might a better path for all students look like?
Join New York Focus for the third installment of our “Focus On” series – a discussion on the pervasive issues in the current public school system and what the future holds for the next generation of New York City students.
