About Event

We’re often told that adapting to climate change means changing how we live – travelling differently, staying indoors during extreme heat, finding ways to cope with flooding, conserving water, or changing our routines.

But adaptation isn’t equally available to everyone.

What happens when your ability to adapt is shaped by your gender, the work you do, how you move through the city, how much you earn, whether you feel safe, or the people you are responsible for caring for?

And when climate disruption enters everyday life, who absorbs the extra work of making things function — changing schedules, finding water, caring for others, navigating unsafe conditions, or simply carrying on?

This conversation asks a deceptively simple question: who gets to adapt? And perhaps more importantly: when we ask people to adapt to a changing climate, who is actually absorbing the cost of that adaptation?

In conversation with Fairuse (ICON Fellow from Bangladesh), Ruhie Kumar (Co-founder, Heatwave Action Coalition), Eisha Hussain (Creative Producer, Storiculture) and Devina S. (Founder and Practice Lead, Mudito)

PARTNERS: Mudito
