Melbourne: 100 Story Building

​During this hands-on volunteer experience, we’ll support 100 Story Building with a working bee focused on space organisation and responsible disposal, helping reset and prepare its Footscray centre ahead of Term 4.

​Volunteers will help sort and organise resources and storage areas, label materials, prepare program resources, and work through items that can be kept, donated, recycled, repurposed, or responsibly disposed of. This work will help 100 Story Building create a more functional and welcoming environment for the literacy, storytelling, and creative learning programs it delivers for children and young people.

​What to Know Before You Go

• ​What to wear: Casual, work-appropriate clothing, your Risepoint t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes.

• ​Working with Children Check: All participants must hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC). If you don’t currently have one, the volunteer WWCC is free and can be started through Service Victoria. Use industry code 28 or 52 for 100 Story Building.

• ​WWCC details: If you apply for a new WWCC, please send your application reference number to Risepoint once received. If you already hold a current volunteer or employee WWCC, you can provide those existing details instead.

• ​Timing: If you need to apply for a WWCC, please start the process as soon as possible and allow approximately two weeks for processing.

• ​Accessibility and accommodations: Please let us know if you have any accessibility requirements or adjustments that would support your participation.

• ​Additional details: Parking, public transport, building access, what to bring, and the final schedule will be shared with registered volunteers in the participant brief closer to the event.
