About Event

During this hands-on volunteer experience, we’ll help A Gift for Teaching prepare essential classroom supplies for distribution to teachers through its Free Teacher Shopping Program. Volunteer activities may include bundling materials, sorting and organizing donations, removing price tags, cleaning supplies, and packing boxes for distribution. Specific tasks will be determined closer to the event based on the organization’s greatest needs.

What to Know Before You Go

What to wear: Comfortable clothing, your Risepoint t-shirt, and closed-toe, closed-heel shoes. Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required with no exceptions.
What to bring: Bring a water bottle. You’re also welcome to bring new or gently used classroom supplies. Review A Gift for Teaching’s donation guidelines for accepted and non-accepted items.
Arrival: Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your volunteer shift.
Parking: Enter the OCPS John T. Morris Facilities complex from John Young Parkway. You may park in front of Building 400, but do not park in the row of spaces in front of the loading dock doors, which must remain clear for OCPS deliveries.
Waiver: A waiver is required. Before the event, complete A Gift for Teaching’s volunteer registration and waiver. Select the Group Volunteer option that lists Risepoint, register for the event, and sign the waiver.
