About the Speaker

Before joining BPI, Jun Neri served as an economics and banking sector analyst for a former Monetary Board Member; was a consultant at the ADB; and a lecturer on monetary and fiscal policy at the University of Asia and the Pacific.

He leads a team that consistently ranks at the top of surveys for analysts conducted by Bloomberg, Businessworld, The Asset. Our speaker was also ranked #1 among local economists by the Department of Finance as having the most accurate gross domestic product (GDP) growth projections from 2016 to 2018. In 2020, he served as the President of the Philippine Economic Society, exemplifying his active participation in the community of professional economists.

He also ranked #3 Best Local Currency Bond Individual for Research in the Asset

Benchmark Research Awards 2023. He was also recognized as the Best Economist in 2023 by the Fund Managers Association of the Philippines. A BusinessWorld columnist also hailed him as the best GDP forecaster of 2023 among major banks, consulting and finance firms, and academia in the Philippines, underscoring his team’s outstanding quality of economic research.
