About Event

Join us each month as Stem & Vine teams up with the BioPark for a relaxed, themed evening designed to bring the science and technology community together. These gatherings are as informal as you want - stop by for a drink, catch up with colleagues, or dive into the full experience.

Every event follows our Think • Taste • Touch model:

  • Think: A short, engaging conversation introduces the science and cultural story behind the theme - no lectures, just accessible insights.

  • Taste: Enjoy curated flavors and beverages that bring the topic to life through sensory discovery.

  • Touch: For those who want to participate, an optional hands-on activity offers a personalized take-home element.

Whether you’re here to connect, unwind, or explore something new, these evenings blend science, culture, and hospitality in a welcoming atmosphere.

Light bites will be served from local vendors, and curated seasonal beverages will be available for purchase.

JANUARY THEME: The Chemistry of Comfort

As winter settles in, comfort becomes a matter of chemistry.

The Chemistry of Comfort: Warming Spices & Immune-Supportive Teas is an immersive evening presented by Stem & Vine, in partnership with the BioPark, exploring how heat, time, and plant chemistry shape both flavor and function in seasonal tea traditions.

Led by herbalist Brittany Williams of Eudemonia, the program blends accessible science, cultural context, and hands-on engagement. Guests will be introduced to warming spices such as cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom, alongside immune-supportive and balancing herbs including tulsi, elderberry, hibiscus, lemon balm, and lemongrass. A short, approachable learning segment will explore how these plants have been used across cultures to support seasonal resilience, and how flavor often signals function in herbal practices.

The evening’s interactive component invites guests to create their own custom loose-leaf tea blend. Three identical blending stations will allow participants to select from warming and immune-supportive herbs and assemble a personalized tea to take home. Each guest will receive a reusable tea bag and a printed guide to support continued use and exploration beyond the event.

To complete the experience, small bites from Chef Cat will be served, thoughtfully designed to complement the herbal and warming qualities of the teas. Seasonal beverages, including non-alcoholic options and winter-inspired warm drinks, will be available at the bar.

Together, the evening offers a welcoming, culturally grounded introduction to plant science and wellness—one that is social, sensory-driven, and rooted in everyday ritual.
