Winter Drinks: π₯ beyONd Extinguishing Fires - Fire fighter to Fire-keeper π₯
βAs an operations leader, how many times have you talked about yourself as the person who fights fires in your organisation?
βJoin us on Tuesday 6th February for an inspiring event where we celebrate the vital role of operational leaders, who tirelessly maintain the energy and momentum needed to achieve ambitious goals, especially during challenging times. π₯
βTruth is, our roles stretch far beyond extinguishing fires. At ON, weβve been inspired (and warmed) by the traditions and practice of what it means to keep the fire going β knowing when to let it burn to light the way, or when to dial it down in the midst of the inevitable startup chaos.
βAcross several indigenous communities, the Fire Keeper hold a significant and vital role, symbolising the heart of communal life. Just like these fire keepers, in the world of startups, we, operations leaders, are not just firefighting; we are custodians of the flame. Our job is to manage the fires strategically.
βIn essence, fire remains a core element in operations. It's the energy that drives us and the challenge that keeps us sharp. Our role is to harness this fire, using it to forge and shape the future of our organisation.π₯ We're the fire keepers, not just the firefighters, playing a crucial role in guiding our startups through their growth and transformations. π¨βπ
βThis celebration focuses on embracing the true nature of our work, recognising the importance of our roles, and ensuring that your inner drive remains fuelled through the toughest seasons.
βThis year, we're excited to collaborate with ποΈ WorkTripp, experts in fostering significant connections at offsites. They have masterfully designed an evening filled with intentional networking, personal growth, and insightful learning experiences. β€οΈβπ₯
βWhat you can expect: Β
βWe have shaken things up a bit so you get to choose your own path at this event:
βSign up to one of 3 intimate 30-minute circle-sessions where youβll use your time to think strategically about team connection and leave with a plan to keep the fire stoked at your company all year-round. (Limited to 18 places available. There is an option to be a silent observer and learn on the sides).π€
βAlternatively, charge up with some decompression time with your favourite people. Network with familiar faces to learn, grow, and laugh with. Weβll throw in some speed networking so everyone goes home with a new contact.Β π£οΈ
βRid yourself of any bad habits or friction points at work. Assign these to the metaphorical fire and - if you are feeling bold - share what youβre shedding and taking on new in 2024 with our open mic.Β π€
βThere will be drinks, nibbles, and an ON classic: the introvert corner... with a bit of a twist. π
