Access Workshop: Energy Data Project

Welcome! To join the event, please register below.
About Event

Moved to February to allow us to run a richer workshop.

We need your input so that we can design something that’s useful to you.

Join us to workshop the data products and visualisations that will allow you to easily find and present evidence on behalf of consumers that can't always participate in the energy transition. Please register even if you wish to simply stay informed about the project.

Energy Data Visualisation Project funded by ECA

The energy sector is swimming in data but we often can’t find what we need when policy debates emerge. We all have different capacity to find and analyse data because so many of us are time poor. The project aims to start solving these challenges with easy to access datasets and visualisations that do the analysis and present the results for you.

This workshop is one of four you can join.

Our theme is Access - Housing and investment challenges for renters, strata & apartments to be held on Thurs 4 Feb 3-4:30pm. The other three are:

  • Fairness - Equity and low income energy users (Tues 2 Feb 1-2:30pm)

  • Transition - Pathways to electrification and renewable homes (Tues 9 Feb 3-4:30pm)

  • Planning - Totally renewable, zero emissions communities and electricity networks (Wed 10 Feb 1-2:30pm)

Come to any one of these events to help us identify your most immediate needs and longer term uses of energy data.

Who should join the Access Workshop?

The focus of this workshop will be access to efficiency, electrification and rooftop solar. Are you a consumer advocate working on any of the following policy issues?

  • Renters

  • Social Housing

  • Apartments

  • Strata

  • Embedded networks

Please also answer the registration questions about the data stories that would help you in your work or fill in this survey.

You can read more about the project here. The videos from the Launch also provide a background to the project and the CSIRO's energy data Living Lab.

My slides are available here.

You can find more information about the Living Lab here. Charlie's slides can be viewed here.

Our updated timeline now looks like this:

Please join us on Thursday 4th February to help us develop useful tools for ensuring more people can participate in the energy transition.

This project was funded by Energy Consumers Australia as part of its Grants Program to support consumer advocacy and research projects that benefit of household and small business consumers. CSIRO is contracted to Energy Together to develop NEAC data products in ways that align with the project outcomes. The views expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of Energy Consumers Australia or CSIRO.

During the workshop, Energy Together and CSIRO will gather information via audio/ video recordings and note taking. The information you provide will be used to develop useful tools for energy visualisation and communication, and may also be included in the report to the project funders, Energy Consumers Australia. In that report, things you say in the workshop may be included as quotes but will not be attributed to you, i.e. you will not be identified. If you would prefer that none of your contribution (even if de-identified) was included in the report, please let the facilitators know.

Note this session will be recorded so that we capture our discussions for the purpose of the developing the project outcomes.
