Queensland & Defence Industry Breakfast
The Gold Coast Legacy Club, in conjunction with the Queensland Government Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning are pleased to host a Defence Industry Networking Event on Friday 22 May 2026 at SOPO, Southport, from 0700 to 0930. The Special Guest to this Function is Hon Sam O’Connor, Acting Minister for Education and the Arts, Minister for Housing and Public Works and Minister for Youth.
Members of the Defence Industry community have four good reasons to attend this event.
The Minister will speak about the initiatives of the State Government in the policy of procurement and inclusion of locally based companies including veteran-owned.
Mr Tim Walmsley, CEO The Industry Platform, will speak about the new Veteran Industry Portal allowing companies to source Veteran businesses for their supply chain,
Mr Leigh Storr, CEO Resinc Solar, will provide an introduction to the Vulnerable Veterans Solar Program, and
Mr James Francis, Legacy, will launch the Gold Coast Legacy Club’s inaugural Just Giving Event.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers and each other at the function.

The Gold Coast Legacy Club are there for the partners and the children of those who gave their lives or their health for our country. Legacy provides the essential social, financial and developmental support that these families depend on each day. The Gold Coast Club cares for over 850 partners of deceased veterans and over 30 families. Legacy performs their works in the background of the same community as those Defence Industries in attendance. All support is gratefully accepted.
